A holistic, strengths-based Consultant, Educator, Mentor & Healer,
Rachelle bridges Relationships, Women's Health, Childbirth & Energy
Medicine. AlohaSmith Wellness Consulting sessions, workshops and
classes are designed to provide practical information, tools and
experiences that recruit inner resources and promote relaxation,
inner peace and loving relationships within the context of our
fast-paced, rapidly-changing, diverse society.
Born & raised in Hawaii, Rachelle earned her B.A. in Sociology:
Inequality & Social Change from UC Santa Cruz in 1993. Full of
naïveté and big dreams, she married her opposite and journeyed to
the East Coast to further her education and to begin tackling "the
bees in her bonnet," as her mother-in-law often says. While
experiencing the consequent culture shock and marriage-reality
shock, she worked as a School Social Worker and Employee Assistance
Program Counselor toward her MSW from Boston College in 1997.
Rachelle has since sought out and trained with many reputable,
innovative, relationship enrichment programs, childbirth preparation
programs and energy work modalities.
Rachelle is drawn to learn from life's challenges, to build bridges
for the gaps in our cultural teachings and to share what she finds
to be the most helpful, practical and personally enriching. She
found relationship enrichment with PAIRS® and the MBTI® shortly
after getting married, and Birthing From Within® and Hypnobabies®
after her own traumatic twin birth experience. To assist in her
postpartum healing, she discovered Reiki, LaHo-Chi™, and Healing
Touch and soon began to offer others gentle, natural hands-on energy
treatments that facilitate a deep state of full-body relaxation, the
mind-body connection and the immune system response. Rachelle then
found Energy Psychology techniques, the Tapas Acupressure Technique®
and the Emotional Freedom Techniques®, to be wonderful links between
her social work and energy work worlds. Right now, she is
integrating all her work while pursuing her Nursing degree and has
joined the Berkshire Healing Arts, a community of independent health
and healing practitioners with a common orientation towards health,
healing and wellness.
Still a wife to her complimentary opposite, Rachelle has worn many
other hats over the years, from receptionist, camp counselor,
waitress, retail sales associate, middle and high school teacher,
Weight Watchers® Leader, "professional" volunteer, college
instructor, Dress For Success® Manager to career counseling
associate. Most importantly, she works very hard at being a "good
enough" mom to her beautiful twin daughters. Since Rachelle loves to
learn, grow, and improve, she will no doubt continue to seek out new
information and incorporate new paradigms into her work and way of
life.
With all of this, Rachelle brings rich life experience, professional
knowledge, multicultural awareness and confidence in the
effectiveness of her work. She has walked what she talks...and her
mission is to share what she's learned with you.
